General Manager – Commercial & Retail Banking
Mr. Joseph L. Ashong has over eighteen (18) years of experience in the field of Audit, Investigations and Consultancy. He joined Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC (then HFC Bank (Ghana) Ltd) in July 2008 as a Team Lead, Internal Audit from SG SSB where he started his Banking career as an Internal Audit Officer. Prior to this, he worked with Egala Atitso and Associates – an Audit and Consultancy Firm as an Audit Team Lead. Before his appointment as the General Manager, Commercial and Retail Banking, Mr. Ashong was the Internal Auditor of Republic Bank where he led the team to develop the Risk Based Audit Methodology in line with Group, Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) and International Standards. Mr. Ashong has over the years held several positions of responsibility at Republic Bank including; Head of Administration and Compliance, Branch Manager and Branch Operations Manager.
Mr. Joseph L. Ashong is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAG). He is also a Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE, Ghana) and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA, Ghana). He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA-Finance) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA, Ghana)
