Republic Bank (Ghana) Plc Rewards Social Media Followers with Mother’s Day Gifts

Ridge, Accra 11th May 2024 – Republic Bank Ghana in joining the global community to celebrate Mother’s Day, launched a heartfelt social media campaign aimed at honoring and appreciating mothers of their social media followers. The objectives of this initiative were mainly to engage their social media community, creating brand affinity and to give back to the followers for their loyalty and custom. By sharing stories that highlight the invaluable contributions that make their mothers unique and deserving of the Republic Bank gift, the social media community and the Bank strengthened their emotional connection, while emphasizing the invaluable role that mothers play in our lives.


Story Sharing Contest:

Followers were invited to share touching stories about their mothers on Republic Bank’s social media pages.

The best stories were featured on the Bank’s social media platforms, highlighting the diverse and inspiring contributions of mothers.

From visually impaired mothers who raised three children including a Lawyer and a Doctor, through mothers who sold Kenkey to cater for their children, the stories where both touching and uplifting. Participants were to receive rewards for sending through their stories

In the end, Ameyaw Daniel, Christy Osei, Naa Larteley Lartey, Hannah … and Anna emerged winners. They were presented with special hefty hampers for their mothers and Republic Bank corporate gifts for themselves.

During a brief statement at the presentation, Mrs. Evelyn Osei- Tutu, Managing Director for Republic Boafo Limited, said ‘mothers deserve all the appreciation and honour because we all came from the womb. She added that as future mothers, younger women must endeavor to achieve more than their mothers did, to ensure they are better positioned to provide for their children and the community at large.


Speaking on behalf of the winners, Naa Larteley Lartey thanked Republic Bank for the kind gesture toward their various mothers. She went on to commend the Bank for their support towards women in general.

Mrs. Genevieve Aboney, Manager, Marketing and Communications thanked the winners and encouraged them to continue to follow the Bank’s social media platforms and look out for more surprises. Also present at the presentation ceremony were, Mrs. Leila Pentsil Manager, Communications, Ms. Claudia Koranteng, New Media and Ms Akosua Akom, Brands.

Republic Bank Mother’s Day social media engagement successfully celebrated the essence of motherhood and enhanced brand loyalty. By leveraging personal stories and emotional connections, the Bank not only honored mothers but also reinforced its statement as ‘the Bank with a Heart’.
